Open Positions

Systems & Networking Engineer

Before we dive in ...

... let’s talk about who we are AND who we are not to make sure you would want to work here, even before discussing skill requirements. Why? Because the below has to be an equal fit as well as the skill requirements.

We value our employees; you are not "just a number". We do not tolerate company politics. We operate in a very relaxed, yet still productive and professional atmosphere.

There are no stuffy suits and ties here, it’s business casual dress – want to wear jeans, that’s fine. Want to wear tennis shoes, that’s fine too.

We are not a large corporation full of red tape and company politics. We are an organization that has been in business for over 25 years and operates in the Belden Village area in Canton, OH. We’ve never had layoffs.

Lastly, but critical to our culture, while customers are certainly important – absolutely no doubt about that – our employees are equally important; without you, the company does not exist.

If the above is acceptable to you, then please read on to see if your skills match our requirements.

Job Description:

Want variety and challenge? This position involves working on a wide range of servers, PCs and networking equipment, as well as being engaged in supporting an equally wide range of operating systems and software. This particular position will be heavily Windows and Networking focused.

The customers you will work with vary in industry as we have customers in medical, manufacturing, distribution, legal, accounting, construction and food processing and they range in size from small/mid-size companies to larger publicly traded companies in the range of $2 billion in revenue.

Our project sizes are wide ranging from $10,000 to as much as $500,000+ and last anywhere from weeks to years.

Skill Requirements:

What does your skillset need to be? We are not like most companies that focus on just one or two technologies. We support a broad range of technologies.

We are looking for STRONG experience in the following:

  • Windows Server OSes (including deep understanding of Active Directory, GPO and Remote Desktop Services)
  • Exchange Server (operation, management, as well as knowing how to do migrations and installs)
  • Networking in general, but with specific experience in Cisco routers and switches
  • Virtualization experience (vSphere ideally, but Hyper-V is also welcome)
  • Software (common applications, SQL Server would be a plus)

Additionally, having skills and experience in the following will be considered a strong plus:

  • Scripting, use of PowerShell
  • Hardware experience (servers, tape drives, high-end UPSes, etc., as well understanding how to configure and support RAID, updating firmware, diagnosing failures, etc.)
  • Some level of physical “handiness” as we do get into cabling jobs and other infrastructure type work
  • Asterisk Phone systems

If this seems like a diverse set of requirements, that’s because it is. This is not a beginner position. We want someone who can hit the ground running.

Benefits include competitive compensation, 401(k) retirement savings with matching percentage, health and life insurance and paid vacation and holidays.

Please do not waste our time or yours by applying for this position if you do not truly meet the requirements.
